Brewery FAQs

Are minors allowed in breweries?

Typically, minors (under the age of 21) are allowed in brewery-restaurants and on brewery tours. (Not always, though.)

Minors are not typically allowed in breweries’ bar areas/tasting rooms or in breweries that are solely bars/tasting rooms (even with parents or other adults).

Are dogs allowed in breweries?

The majority of breweries have “service animals only” policies inside their taprooms.

(Legally, breweries that serve food cannot allow dogs inside.)

However, many breweries do have dog-friendly patios or beer gardens.

What should I order at a brewery?

Generally speaking, flights with multiple beers are ideal brewery orders (especially for first- timers.)

Flights are small pours (usually around 4 ounces) of several different beers made by the brewery.

Beer flights may be pre-designed (beers put together by the brewery) or build-your-own (allowing you to pick whichever beers you choose to try).

Some beers go better together than others, though, so if you’re designing your own, this is a great time to ask your bartender for a little guidance.

What if I don’t know anything about beer?

Then a brewery is one of the best places for you.

Not only do brewery tap rooms often provide tasting samples (smaller pours than flight pours), but the staffs of breweries are highly knowledgeable.

If you don’t know what kind of beer you like, you can just tell your beertender and they will help you find the right flavor profile for your palate.
